The world's No. 1 social networking service (SNS) company Facebook will cooperate with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to help Korean SMEs advance overseas. By the end of the year, about 400 companies will receive support in their overseas expansion from Facebook.

On July 12, Facebook and the KOTRA announce that they will offer the “Made by Korea” Program to help Korean SMEs make a foray into overseas markets in a press conference held at the KOTRA head office in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.

The “Made by Korea” Program tentatively began, targeting 57 Korean SMEs in March and will start its official full-scale service on the basis of its achievements accumulated so far. Companies selected through reviews by Facebook and the KOTRA will receive know-how from experts through the Made by Korea Program.

Participants will take an eight-week training course on export from program planning to the establishment of overseas strategy, marketing, export work and online marketing. Facebook and KOTRA representatives will also help the companies receive a wide array of approval and permits from overseas countries to which they want to export their goods.
