The Busan branch office of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) jointly hosted an export consultation convention for Asian buyers at Lotte Hotel Busan on July 6 with Busan Marine Equipment Association and Korea Maritime and Ocean University.

The convention was held to invite potential buyers in Asia, introduce excellent products and technologies of domestic marine equipment manufacturers and seek out exportable items and strengthen exchange and cooperation networks through a one-to-one consultation session.

On the first day of the convention, buyers from 26 companies from six countries – China, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and India – and 110 South Korean marine equipment suppliers were matched to have an export consultation session according to demand surveys conducted earlier. On the second day, buyers visited Doosan Engine in Changwon and Panasia in Busan and checked their excellent products and technologies on the site.

Choi Soo-jung, director of the KICOX said, “Through the latest consultation convention, we hope that domestic equipment producers can expand exports to Asian countries, which are emerging as new shipbuilding powerhouse, and establish continous cooperative networks.”
