The Visit Korea Year Committee announced on July 4 that the committee held a press conference to introduce major activities and projects linked to the “2016 - 2018 Visit Korea Year” campaign and the “2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games” to journalists from five Asian countries at the Seoul Foreign Media Support Center on July 3.

12 journalists from five Asian countries including Vietnam, Indonesia and Uzbekistan, visited Korea at the invitation of the Korean Culture and Information Service. In the press conference, 12 journalists listened to explanations about second-year projects for 2016 - 2018 Visit Korea Year connected to the Korea Grand Sale Grand Prix and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Paralympics. In the following Q&A session and interviews, they asked many questions about Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, showing strong interest.

These journalists flew into Korea on July 2, covering Bukchon Hanok Village, the Pyeongchang ICT Winter Olympic Team under the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the Korean Food Foundation and SBS. They will cover the Visit Korea Year Committee, the National Asian Cultural Complex, and the Drama Production Center, staying in Korea until July 7.

"Coverage by journalists from major media in Asia will greatly contribute to the attracting of foreign tourists prior to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games," Hahn Kyung-ah, secretary general of the Visit Korea Year Committee. “Through continued PR activities for overseas media, we will put forth efforts to publicize major projects of the 2016-2018 Visit Korea Years."
