Ginseng Expo
A private organization is established in order to successfully host the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo 2017 to be held in Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province, in September.
The Pan-provincial Support Council for Geumsan World Ginseng Expo held the opening ceremony at the Darakwon Sports Center in Geumsan on June 16. The ceremony was attended by 500 people including South Chungcheong Province Governor Ahn Hee-jung. The pan-provincial support council will carry out promotional activities to attract visitors to the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo and encourage provincial residents to voluntarily participate in the event in the future.
Meanwhile, the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo will take place with a theme of “Ginseng, Root of Life” at the Ginseng Expo Square in Geumsan County for 32 days from September 22.
The expo, which will present the direction and vision of the ginseng industry, will be largely divided into five zones – theme zone, experience zone, industrial zone, recreational zone and amenities zone. It will also provide 59 programs such as official event, performance and events.
Through the expo, the province expects to reestablish its status in the international community as a place in where Korean ginseng with 1,500 years of history originated, gather ability of the ginseng industry, create future value and gain a foothold for another leapfrog of the ginseng industry.
