Excellent Partner
Hyundai Mobis was selected as best quality partner of GM and FCA. GM notified Hyundai Mobis that Hyundai Mobis was selected as its best partner last month. FCA Korea also hosted its own award ceremony at Resort of Booyoung Hotel and Resort on Jeju Island on June 16.
Hyundai Mobis is supplying integrated switch module (LCS) to GM and rear combination lamps to FCA. An ICS is a state-of-the-art device that controls multimedia and air conditioning systems, and consists of various electric products including displays.
ICS is a key part of the driver's convenience and has been supplied to GM since 2011. In the meantime, the quality management system and production management efforts of Hyundai Mobis have been acknowledged, which leads to further discussion about expansion of supply to other GM sedan models.
Rear combination lamps were selected as a representative example in accordance with FCA's “quality first” policy. Since 2013, Hyundai Mobis has been supplying them to FCA's US factories, and its supply volume arrived at 1 million units so far. They are mounted on the Jeep Cherokee, a representative FCA model.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis is operating four overseas research centers, one each in North America, Germany, China, and India with its technology research center in Korea as the world’s HQ center. In addition, the company is currently operating an electronic parts factory in Jincheon, Korea and core parts factories in Tianjin, China and Mexico. In April, the company announced that it would complete the addition of a Czech lamp plant and utilize it as a strategic base not only for cars of Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors but for European finished cars.
