Winix announced on June 9 that the life environment solution company won the design award for the air purifier Tower XQ series which is the company’s main product at the IDEA 2017 (International Design Excellence Awards 2017).
Winix has been recognized for its design prowess by winning the iD Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and the IDEA Award this year, winning the three major design awards on the international stage.
The design awards grand slam was achieved by Winix’s Tower XQ series, which was developed to be produced as an interior item based on minimalism from the planning stage. The product accentuates its chick beauty by applying a sophisticated matte pattern as a whole and properly combining a dynamic product line and curve with a smooth and warm feel.
Winix's winning of the prize is a result of design management that has been going on at Winix. The company has operated the Design Office directly under the CEO by recognizing the importance of design and has established a separate design lab to enhance its the design competitiveness.
"With this grand slam as momentum, we are planning to pursue design that is more consumer-centered and harmonious with everyday life," said Yeo Chan-wook, the head of the Design Office. "We will strive to present designs and products that make our customers' lives more convenient and enjoyable."
