The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that Marne Osorio Lima, governor of Rivera State in Uruguay, visited Incheon Port and promised to make efforts to increase bilateral marine trade volume in the morning of May 5.

According to the IPA, this visit was made at the request of Rivera to benchmark the development and operation status of the Incheon Port Logistics Complex in connection with their plan to develop a logistic industrial complex in Rivera of Uruguay in order to strengthen the state’s logistics competitiveness.

On the day, governor Lima and Luna Fernando Iribarne Restuccia, Uruguayan ambassador to South Korea had a meeting with Nam Bong-hyun, president of the IPA and asked for cooperation through such as advice, constant exchanges of information, and consulting.

The Rivera state delegation visited local logistics companies and their operation sites in the first A-am Logistics Complex after discussing ways to increase trade and cooperation between the two countries.

"At the moment, the IPA is successfully operating two logistics complexes. We are planning to open additional facilities in the north of Incheon Port and in Incheon New Port," said Nam Bong-hyun, president of IPA. "I hope that the IPA’s accumulated experience and know-how will contribute to the development of logistics complexes in Uruguay and the growth of the Uruguayan economy."
