KB Kookmin Bank announced that the bank held the Housing Financing Workshop at KB Financial Tower in Yeouido on May 30 by inviting high-ranking officials of the State Bank of Vietnam.

The Housing Financing Workshop was held to share information on the Vietnamese and Korean banking industries and know-how in housing finance. In attendance were senior officials from organizations of the Vietnamese Government, including Nguyen Dong Tien, deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Prime Minister's Office.

The workshop introduced Korea's housing finance system, housing welfare policies, cases of the securitization of insolvent assets in financial institutions. Participants discussed the development of the Vietnamese housing finance system.

"This workshop is expected to contribute to the development of a suitable housing finance model for Vietnam and the development of the Vietnamese financial market by introducing examples of Korea's housing policies and the development of housing finance development," said Yoon Jong-kyoo, president of KB Kookmin bank. “The workshop is also meaningful in that the event offered opportunities for networking between the State Bank of Vietnam and state-run Korean financial firms."

"This workshop was a good opportunity to understand Korea's housing policies and housing finance system," said Nguyen Dong Tien, deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam. "In order to develop the housing finance system of Vietnam, we want to boost cooperation with KB Kookmin Bank."

On the other hand, KB Kookmin Bank is currently operating a branch in Ho Chi Minh City and the Hanoi Office in Vietnam and is waiting for the Vietnamese Government’s approval of a branch in Hanoi.
