The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) carried out the World Bank's "Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF)" for electric power industry workers from eight western African countries and Haiti in Central and South America.

The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) transferred Korea's advanced power system operation technology and experience in new and renewable energy policies to underdeveloped countries including Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana.

The KPX gave education on power systems, new energy industries, new and renewable energy to 35 electric power industry workers from eight western African countries and Haiti in Central and South America at Education Center at its Naju Headquarters on May 23.

As part of the World Bank's Green Growth Knowledge Exchange Project, this education program was prepared as an international cooperation project for underdeveloped countries sponsored by the Korea Green Growth Trust Fund under the World Bank.

The World Bank called the KPX, which plays a leading role in Korea's electric power industry, to take part in the program by paying attention to the exchange’s roles. The event was held for the second time since the first one in February. The program aims mainly at improving the electric power industry in underdeveloped countries.

The event was attended by officials of government departments and business leaders from the Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Electricité (CIE), the Ghanaian Energy Department, Nigerien Electricity Corporation (NIGELEC), Société Nationale D'électricité du Sénégal  (SENELEC) and the Haitian Energy Department. They learned practical work and theories from experts of the Korea Power Exchange on system operation, new industries, and new and renewable energy policies. In particular, they showed great interest in advanced power system operation and energy management system (EMS) technology.
