Hanmi Global announced on May 23 that the company signed a strategic business agreement on seismic consulting services with British engineering company ARUP.

The company is planning to map out a risk consulting service plan for disaster responses in cooperation with ARUB of the UK and provide high-level earthquake and disaster response consulting services including seismic safety consulting service to the Korean market.

Hanmi Global's disaster response consulting is based on the business continuity plans (BCPs), a new concept to evaluate the safety of major services of each company as well as the safety of people caused by various types of disasters such as earthquakes and devise countermeasures. The company will provide consulting services such as disaster risk assessment and business continuity planning at operational stages of major functional buildings including banks, IT data centers, power plants, electric power facilities, and production facilities at factories.

"Through the business agreement with ARUP in the UK, we introduced a high-level disaster response consulting service to the domestic construction market, taking the initiative in establishing stability standards for the industry and helping the industry secure world-class disaster response capabilities," said Kim Jong-hoon, chairman of Hanmi Global.
