LS Group chairman Koo Jae-yeol carried out on-the-scene management by visiting worksites of LS-Nikko Copper Inc., LS Industrial Systems and LS Metal for two days from May 15.

According to the LS Group, chairman Koo visited LS-Nikko Copper Inc. in the Onsan National Industrial Complex on May 17, followed by a visit to a PSA plant for semiconductors, a smelting plant and a precious metal plant and was briefed on plans for investment for work stabilization and environmental regulations. The chairman also had a listen to plans to build a smart factory that analyzes on-site big data to optimize smelting efficiency and improve IT infrastructure.

"LS-Nikko Copper Inc. has the most ideal process for applying digital transformations," chairman Koo said. "I hope that LS-Nikko Copper Inc. will become a model case for the LS Group by significantly strengthening its digital capabilities such as attaching sensors to its manufacturing process and utilizing them."

Chairman Koo is planning to visit Japanese partner companies at the end of this month and LS Cable in the latter half of the year for making digital transformation strategies and benchmarking.
