Samsung Electronics announced on April 28 that it has launched its mobile payment service Samsung Pay in North Europe and Middle East.

Samsung Electronics has started providing Samsung Pay service in Sweden and the United Arab Emirates from the 27th (local time). To this end, the company has cooperated with seven local card firms and banks, such as Eurocard and Nordea, in Sweden, and with nine, including major local banks ADCB and Emirates NBD.

Samsung Electronics has also started offering a prior experience service for the digital wallet solution in Hong Kong and Switzerland before the release. The company plans to officially release the service by the end of the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Samsung Pay is now supported in the U.S., China, Spain, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand and India, after it debuted in the Korean market in August 2015 for the first time. The prior experience service is available in Canada, Hong Kong and Switzerland. Samsung Pay's number of cumulative transactions passed the 100-million mark in August last year, just in one year after the launch, and exceeded 240 million as of March this year.
