Support Group for Ginseng Expo
South Chungcheong Province will assemble the South Chungcheong Provincial Support Group headed by lieutenant governor Heo Seung-wook in order to prepare for the 2017 Geumsan World Ginseng Expo which will be held in September.
The South Chungcheong Provincial Support Group will be headed by lieutenant governor Heo Seung-wook, and Kim Yong-chan, head of the Office of Planning and Coordination. The group is composed of 14 teams covering general support, disaster safety and international cooperation.
The teams will support 40 projects including promoting pan-province policies supporters, hosting an import and export fair with foreign businesses, selling tour packages linked to the Geumsan Ginseng Expo and identifying and selecting cooperation projects and making efforts to make the expo a big success.
In this regard, the South Chungcheong Provincial Government held the 2017 Geumsan World Ginseng Expo Preparation Report Meeting presided over by lieutenant governor Heo Seung-wook at the provincial government building on March 30, and checked support and cooperation issues and preparations for the expo.
"The 2017 Geumsan World Ginseng Expo will be an opportunity for Korea to reaffirm its sovereignty over ginseng whose good reputation began around the year of 1500 and maximize the power of the Korean ginseng industry," lieutenant governor Heo said. “Let’s make thorough preparations to make the event safe and well-organized with the South Chungcheong Provincial Support Group taking the lead.
Meanwhile, the 2017 Geumsan World Ginseng Expo (http://www.insamexpo.or.kr) will run at the Geumsan Ginseng Expo Plaza under the theme of “A Root of Life, Ginseng! –- Take off for the World with Science and Culture” for 32 days from September 22 to October 23.
