“CJ Korean Entertainment Pack,” a leading video service platform, will also be launched in Hong Kong. CJ E&M plans to secure various channels such as TV and online video services to become a "Hallyu leader" so that various Korean wave contents such as movies, dramas, and performances can be exported and diffused all over the world.
In April, CJ E&M expanded service nations of “tvN Movies,” the world's first exclusive Korean film channel for overseas viewers which opened in Singapore in January, to Malaysia so that the service was provided in April via the channel “HyppTV,” a major Internet and TV operator in Malaysia, showing Korean films of various genres including the latest ones.
CJ E&M will make customized arrangements for each country according to local preferences and trends. In addition, the company will provide film subtitles in English, Chinese (simplified), and Malay to suit the tastes of Malaysian locals of various races and ethnic groups. CJ E&M will also provide the mobile application of “HyppTV Everywhere.”
In June, CJ E&M will lease VTC5, a Vietnamese broadcasting channel by 2022 and will launch TV Blue, a comprehensive Korean Cultural Wave entertainment channel. The company will start a tentative service beginning in April. This channel is based on the contents of CJ E&M, such as “Chicago Typewriter” and “Three Meals a Day” and will broadcast original contents of tvN Asia, a representative Korean Cultural Wave channel operated by CJ E&M Hong Kong and localized TV dramas and entertainment programs produced by CJ E&M Vietnam, .
