Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy S8 at Lincoln Center in New York on March 29 (local time). At the Galaxy S8 unpacked event, Justin Denison, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics America, said, “The Galaxy S8 will come bundled with a pair of AKG-tuned earphones.”
What flatters Samsung Electronics’ upcoming flagship smartphone “Galaxy S8” is the earphones. As Samsung Electronics completed its acquisition of Harman International Industries, a U.S. audio and automotive component supplier, in March, Harman AKG earphones will come in the box with the Galaxy S8.
Although Samsung has remained one of the world's best high-end smartphone makers, there have been questions on the quality of its bundled earphones. Considering consumers' complaints, Samsung has decided to make the most of its new subsidy's audio expertise as the Galaxy S8 will come bundled with a pair of AKG earphones.
The new high-performance earphones have dual drivers – 11 and 8 millimeters – to offer uncompromised audio for unbeatable sound quality. The earphones, which have been developed by the world’s renowned acoustic experts at Harman after several years of research, allow users to experience natural sounds without distorting the original sounds.
In addition, the earphones will have a comfortable hybrid canal fit for better noise cancellation and will be made from anti-tangle metal-fabric material for stronger durability.
Those who want to experience Harman’s high-quality sound technology can visit and listen to music at the Harman flagship store located at 527 Madison Avenue in New York. At the store, there are various audio products, such as specialized audio equipment, home audio equipment, high-performance speakers and headphones, of Harman’s renowned audio brands, including AKG, JBL and Harman Kardon.
Samsung Electronics’ IT & Mobile Communications (IM) Division is expected to accelerate the cooperation with Harman’s numerous brands, including AKG, in the future. Previously, Samsung Electronics announced its plan to apply Harman’s audio technology to the Galaxy S9 to be released in 2018.
