Green Cross announced that the company landed an order for an approximate US$37 million worth of flu vaccines from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) of the World Health Organization (WHO) in a 2017 bid for medicines for the southern hemisphere. This is the largest-ever volume since Green Cross began to export flu vaccines and up 15 percent or more from last year's flu vaccine exports to the southern hemisphere.

As a result, Green Cross's overseas flu vaccine sales exceeded US$200 million in total in six years since it started exporting flu vaccines.

Moreover, it is worth noting that Green Cross is cutting a conspicuous figure in the global flu vaccine market dominated by multinational pharmaceutical companies. Green Cross has been ranking first in the flu vaccine sector in the PAHO bidding market, one of the world's largest vaccine markets, since 2014.

"With an increase in orders, we can directly contribute to the improvement of the health of the international community more significantly," a Green Cross official said.

In the meantime, Green Cross is recording over 100 billion won (US$87 million) in flu vaccine sales only since 2015 due to strong domestic sales and strong exports.
