According to the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the 8th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission meeting to check on preparations for the 2018 Winter Games and IOC Executive Board meeting to discuss the current issue of the IOC will take place for three days from March 13 to 15 at the Alpensia Convention Center in Pyeongchang.

The IOC Coordination Commission meeting will be attended by 11 PyeongChang Organizing Committee members and officials from the organizing committee and host city, including PyeongChang Organizing Committee President Lee Hee-beom and IOC Coordination Commission President Gunilla Lindberg.

After the meeting in October last year, the 8th IOC Coordination Commission meeting will start with a tour of the Olympic venues, including the Olympic Plaza on the 13th, have regular sessions on the 14th and 15th to check on overall preparations for the Olympics, such as transportations, accommodations and work force, and end with press conferences with domestic and foreign reporters.

In addition, the IOC Executive Board meeting will be held from the 16th to 17th with 14 officials, including IOC President Thomas Bach, IOC Vice Presidents – John Coates of Australia, Yu Zaiqing of China, Juan Antonio Samaranch of Spain and Ugur Erdener of Turkey – in attendance.

PyeongChang Organizing Committee President Lee Hee-beom said, “We expect to hold a highly productive IOC Coordination Commission meeting in order to host the most successful Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang next year.”
