Sony’s Challenge
On October 16, Sony Korea announced it will release the world’s slimmest tablet PC, the Vaio Tap 11, featuring Windows 8.
The Vaio Tap 11 is a tablet PC which allows the monitor and keyboard to separate. Using magnets installed in the keyboard, the two parts can be connected. It has an “omni-balance” design, which shows symmetry and perfect balance at any angle.
It uses a full HD display panel and a digital stylus pen, making it feel like using an actual pen and a notebook. It is only 9.9mm thick and 0.78kg in weight, increasing transportability and mobility.
The product comes in white and black. The black model (SVT11215CKB) featuring a 4th Generation Intel Core i5 Processor is 1.699 million won (US$1,597.18), while the white model with a Pentium processor is 1.299 million won (US$1,221.15). Sony Korea will start taking orders for the white model on October 16 and the black on October 28 at both the Sony Store Online and in offline stores.
