The InterBattery 2013 exhibition kicked off at the COEX Convention Center located in Seoul on October 16 to mark the advent of the era of flexible batteries. Samsung SDI, LG Chem, SK Innovation and many more companies displayed a variety of next-generation batteries to offer a blueprint for the future of the industry.

Samsung SDI unveiled its all-solid-state battery at the show, along with various products such as large-scale energy storage systems (ESSs), polymer-type, prismatic, and curved batteries that can be mounted on wearable devices.

The all-solid electrolytes of the all-solid-state battery has the advantage of being capable of preventing accidents that could be caused by the commercialization of electric vehicles and the popularization of smart devices.

In the meantime, LG Chem opened three types of new batteries to the public, that is, stepped, curved, and cable batteries. According to LG Chem, the products were unveiled a week earlier, and a lot of global electronics manufacturers have made inquiries about these since then.
