Marking the 10th anniversary of operating “LS College Student Volunteer Service Group,” LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-yeol participated in volunteer programs with college students after attending the completion ceremony of LS Dream School No.7 in Hai Duong Province, Vietnam, on January 19.

The ceremony took place in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, with 20 key officials, college student volunteers and 200 local students, such as Chairman Koo Ja-yeol, Kim Gon-joong, vice president of COPION, a non-profit organization carrying out community development projects in developing countries, and Luong Van Cau, vice chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee (PPC), in attendance.

Chairman Koo watched a performance given by elementary school and college student volunteers and videos celebrating the 10th anniversary at the event. He also offered scholarships and donated bookshelves and books. On the same day, the completion ceremony of LS Dream School No.8 was also held in Vĩnh Long Province, which is located near Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam, attended by president of LSCV, a Vietnamese subsidiary of LS Cable & System.

The 19th LS College Student Volunteer Service Group arrived at Hai Duong Province on the 11th and carried out education, science and labor volunteer activities for 12 days and 10 nights. Then, it returned home early in the morning on the 22nd.

Koo delivered a welcoming speech, saying, “LS has been able to become No.1 power and communication cable maker in Vietnam thanks to support and attention from the Vietnamese government and people in about 20 years after the company first entered Hai Phong City in 1996. In return for such growth, we will continue to increase the investment and employment and carry out corporate social responsibility activities in the future, and make an effort to maintain the partnership between Vietnam and LS for more than 100 years.”
