Now, iPhone users are able to use Samsung Electronics’ latest smartwaches.

Samsung Electronics announced on January 8 that it has enabled iPhone users to download the Samsung Gear S and Samsung Gear S Fit apps from the Apple App Store to get the compatibility with the Gear S3 and Gear S2 smartwatches and the Gear Fit 2 fitness band. The new apps support a total of 10 models, including the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 9.0 or later.

As Samsung Electronics, which has so far supported the apps for its own smartphones only, has opened to iPhone users, the range of its users will be expanded.

Lee Young-hee, executive vice president of the mobile communications business division at Samsung Electronics, said, “With Samsung Gear products working together with not only Android devices but also iOS devices, we hope to see more and more consumers enjoy experiencing the best wearable devices.”
