BBuzzArt, a developer of a global art social platform, successfully induced KRW 2 billion won worth of investment.
K-ICT, a start-up support-specialized organization, announced on January 4 that BBuzzArt, its member company attracted 2 billion won in Series A investment from POSCO Technology Investment and Mirae Asset Venture Investment at the end of last December.
"This series A investment will enhance the global art social platform that can recommend customized works by grasping the artistic tendencies of users," said Shin Se-eun, CEO of BBuzzArt. "We will build an e-commerce system through which artists can sell their works directly."
BBuzzArt's global art social platform specialized in fine arts took shape as a community where new artists can freely present their works and communicate with art lovers.
The platform is currently used by more than 100,000 global emerging artists and art lovers in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and South America. Roughly 30,000 works of art are uploaded to the platform.
BBuzzArt provides opportunities for new artists to present their works both online and offline. The Global Traveling Exhibition also known as BBuzzShow is showing various works of emerging artists in major cities such as New York, Berlin, Singapore, Shanghai, and Seoul.
"BBuzzArt is focused on expanding the global art market with items item that combine IT and art," said Kim Jong-gap, director of the Born2Global Center.
As the platform targeted overseas markets from its planning stage, the platform has been well received such as being featured in App Stores of the US and Canada (making the lists of recommendable applications).
The center will help BBuzzArt more widely publicized in the global market in multiple directions in the future.”
