Mando announced on December 28 that the company was planning to establish Mando Industry Silicon Valley (MISV) as its R&D base near Mountain View, California, in the first half of next year.  The key base will take the lead in securing future growth engines such as finding new business items and technologies.

Mando will also seek joint projects or M&A deals with local companies through publicity activities for a radar which was developed by Mando for the first time in the US, and Mando’s technology-intensive products for self-driving cars such as a driver assistance system (DAS) algorithm under development. At the same time, the company will discover a promising start-up with related technology.

"By establishing a Silicon Valley branch, the center of automotive technology innovation, we will boost Mando's competitiveness in the future automotive technology market through partnership with various global companies," said Tak Il-hwan, a vice president of Mando.
