RVs Account for 32% of Cars Sold by Hyundai and Kia in Korea This Year

Three out of 10 cars sold by Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors in Korea this year were found to be recreational vehicles (RVs).

According to the automobile industry on December 25, Hyundai and Kia sold 1071,881 cars in Korea until November this year.

Among the total sales, RVs accounted for 342,323 units, 32%. In terms of proportions, they increased 12.8 percentage points in five years since 19.2 percent in 2011.

Hyundai Motor is developing compact SUVs with the aim of launching them next year, so that the proportion of Hyundai and Kia's RV sales will increase further.

Despite sluggish domestic sales due to the economic downturn, this year’s RV sales are expected to exceed last year's level.
