Hyundai Heavy Industries recently received orders for 100 mini excavators (1.7 to 3.5 tons) through local dealers in Australia and New Zealand. In the mini excavator market of the Oceania region such as Australia and New Zealand are dominated by Japanese and American companies. Therefore it is considered unusual for Korean companies to receive large-scale orders.

This order helped Hyundai Heavy Industries to achieve 40% year-on-year growth in advanced markets such as Oceania, Europe and North America.

Sales of this product continued to grow at an annual average rate of 13% despite the global economic downturn. The product has grown into a major product of Hyundai Heavy Industries along with medium and large excavators which weigh more than 14 tons.

In September, Hyundai Heavy Industries entered into strategic alliance with CNH Industrial, a global transportation equipment company about six mini excavators and since then, has been strengthening its invasion of global markets.

Through this, Hyundai Heavy Industries plans to nearly double the worldwide sales volume of mini excavators to the 9,000-unit-a-year level by the end of 2018.
