Hyosung has been actively participating in patriotic activities to promote the love of the nation, mecenat activities to provide the underprivileged with opportunities to enjoy cultural events, employees’ voluntary activities to help the marginalized adapt to society and global sharing activities under the slogan "We Will Stand by You through Sharing Activities."

In particular, Hyosung is actively engaging in social contribution activities in overseas areas with its worksites, enhancing the image of Hyosung as a global top-tier company.

Since 2011, Hyosung has carried out 'Smile Expedition Team' activities to provide free medical care to residents who did not receive medical services in Dongnai Province of Vietnam where Hyosung produces spandex and tire cords.

Following November of last year, the team carried out free medical service activities in Long Tho of Dong Nai Province near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from August 22 to 25, this year. They who treated approximately 700 people in the team’s first year of 2011, provided free medical services to about 9,000 Vietnamese people this year.

This year, free medical services were provided by 28 members of medical staffs of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, the Dental Center at Gachon University Gil Hospital and the Korea Blindness Prevention Foundation and 50 employees of Hyosung Vietnam. On top of that, the Hyosung Smile Expedition Team visited Long Tho Elementary School and Puok Tien Elementary Schools and conducted basic health check-ups of about 500 students.

Hyosung also heard from the medical staff of the Hyosung Smile Expedition Team that many local residents have eye problems. Therefore, the company added an ophthalmologic service to the program this year. So, eye tests were conducted and the company donated glasses to senior citizens and elementary school students with poor eyesight.
