Three Korean Companies Named in World’s 100 Global Innovators

Three Korean companies – Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and LS Industrial Systems -- were named among the world’s top 100 global innovators. An annual report compiled by Thomson Reuters said that the three Korean companies have placed their names on the list for the third consecutive year.

The commendation has been given to companies and institutes that demonstrated innovation by measuring related factors such as the number and influence of patents.

By country, the US topped the list with 45 companies, including Apple and Google, followed by Japan with 27 companies including Toyota Motor Corp. and one research institute, and France with 12 companies.
