The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) announced on November 23 that they will cooperate in the information security sector with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) of Senegal and provide consulting programs to pass down Korean information protection models and expertise in Internet security infringement response in Senegal from the 22nd to 25th.

The consulting programs came after Senegal’s Post and Telecommunication Vice Minister Malick Ndiaye, who attended the inauguration ceremony of “Global Cyber Security Partnership Network (CAMP)” held in Korea in July, asked South Korea to help establish the nation’s information protection system.

The KISA and the MSIP held “Korea-Senegal Information Protection Strategy Seminar” for high ranking officials of government ministries and private and public institutions, such as Senegalese prime minister’s office and the MPT, in Senegal on the same day in cooperation with experts from domestic information security firms, including AhnLab, IGLOO Security, Korea Information Certificate Authority and KT.

In addition, they will examine the level of information protection at Senegal’s information protection related organizations, like the MPT, the Computerization Agency and the Center for Cybercrime Prevention, and offer training programs for technology policy.

Meanwhile, the KISA has established its regional foothold in major strategic countries, such as Oman in Middle East, Tanzania in Africa, Costa Rica in Latin America and Indonesia in Southeast Asia, in order to push into the global information protection market this year and promoted cooperation with them including consulting sessions for local technology policy.
