WAUG,(http://www.waug.co.kr) a Korea-based booking platform for tours and activities, has raised series A funding from Cognitive Investment and D.CAMP to expend its business globally.

WAUG Travel launched the service a year ago to make the booking process for vacation activities much easier. Based in Seoul, WAUG offers 1,400 activities including city tours, attractions, lessons and extreme sports online or via mobile across 40 cities in Asia

Kim Dong-hwan, vice president of Cognitive Investment said, “Personalized tours and vacation activities are getting extremely popular and WAUG Travel is one of the fastest-growing travel startups in Asia.”

Yoon Sun-woo, CEO of WAUG Travel, said “We are the only booking platform in Korea providing the real-time confirmation for overseas activities. Now we are preparing for expanding our business beyond Asia.”

The market for tours and activities is estimated to reach US$150 billion globally and US$42 billion in Asia alone.
