Samsung Electronics decided to support developers of its proprietary operating system (OS) application, Tizen, with up to US$1 million a month.

Samsung Electronics announced the incentive program at the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASCOM) Game Developer Conference held in Hyderabad, India on November 11 (local time).The program will run for nine months from February to October of next year and will support each of developers of the top 100 download apps in “TizenStore” with US$10,000.

Applications for registration are scheduled to begin on January 6 of next year. In August, Samsung Electronics announced its Z2, the third smartphone loaded with Tizen in New Delhi, India, and is expanding sales in emerging markets such as Southwest Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa among others.
