Hyundai Motor, the nation's top automaker, announced on November 10 that the Ioniq Hybrid outperformed the Toyota Prius Hybrid in key indicators, such as design and vehicle performance, at the comparison evaluation conducted by Auto Bild, a leading German automobile magazine, last month.

The two models were evaluated and scored in seven sectors – car body, environmental factors including carbon dioxide emissions, empty vehicle weight and running noise, driving dynamics, connectivity, comfort, power train and cost – on the basis of 750 points.

The Ioniq Hybrid received higher scores in five out of seven sectors with 543 points than the Prius Hybrid with 529 points.

The Ioniq Hybrid received favorable reviews that it has excellent design which is sleek, modern and understated, smooth gear shifting with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and higher acceleration performance than expected in sports driving.

Meanwhile, Auto Bild also carried out simplified evaluation tests on the Ioniq Electric and the BMW i3. Both models earned four stars out of five, according to Hyundai Motor.
