LG Household & Health Care has acquired the Asia Pacific business of REACH® Brand oral care from Johnson & Johnson PTE LTD to expand its oral care business in the Asian market.
LG Household & Health Care has acquired the Asia Pacific business of REACH® Brand oral care from Johnson & Johnson PTE LTD to expand its oral care business in the Asian market.

 

LG Household & Health Care announced on November 1 that it agreed to acquire the Asia Pacific business of REACH® Brand oral care from Johnson & Johnson PTE LTD. The acquisition amount was not yet disclosed.

The acquisition of REACH® Brand expects to extend the LG H&H’s oral care business in the existing markets such as South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam to the new markets including Australia, New Zealand, and India.

LG H&H will aggressively make inroads into overseas markets by utilizing REACH® Brand’s international brand awareness based on its experiences in sales of a variety of all oral care products.

The Federation Dental International (FDI) proposed to extend the contemporary definition of “Oral Care” to “Oral Health” reflecting that the oral health is increasingly recognized to have an impact on the overall health and the life quality as human being’s life expectancy is becoming much longer today.

LG H&H said that the acquisition will be a part of nurturing its oral health business and expanding overseas business as it makes further R&D investment.

The global oral care market grew 5% CAGR for the past 5 years and estimated to be worth US$40.3 billion in 2015. The fast-growing demand from emerging markets in the Asian region and the expanded perception of oral health will make the market grow further down the road.
