The G-Startup Worldwide Seoul will take place on December 2, 2016 during the creative economy expo hosted by the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.

As a global event jointly sponsored by Global Mobile Internet Conference and GWC, a global mobile innovation platform, it is a startup competition held in major cities around the world to find the most innovative, early stage startups.

The G-Startup Worldwide was hosted at each Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) in 2016 including Tel Aviv, Beijing, Tokyo, Jakarta, Sao Paulo, offering US$1 million (1.12 billion won) in total prizes. At the event held at Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco on September 28, the regional winner in Tel Aviv “Feelter” won in the final tournament with the regional winner in Silicon Valley. The winner of the G-Startup Worldwide will receive a US$50,000 (55.88 million won) investment prize and the second place winner will receive a US$30,000 (33.53 million won) investment prize. The winner will also receive a free trip to Silicon Valley to pitch to world famous venture capitalists and compete to become the 2016 G-Startup Worldwide Global Winner. The second place winner overall will receive an additional US$120,000 (134.1 million won) incestment and the Global Winner will receive an additional US$250,000 (279.38 million won) investment

Seoul was selected as the last city of the G-Startup Worldwide in 2016. In this regard, the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation announced that the competition among global startups, including Korea, will take place in COEX. The regional winner and second place winner in Seoul will also receive a US$50,000 (55.88 million won) and a US$30,000 (33.53 million won) investment prize. The winner will be invited to the G-Startup Worldwide Global Final to be held in September 2017 and offered a chance to pitch onstage to global venture capitalists and receive an additional investment prize.
