Korean snack and confectionary maker Orion Group announced on October 5 that it started selling “Choco Pie Banana,” the best-selling product in the domestic confectionery this year, in the global market. The group exported the first batch of 200,000 boxes of Choco Pie Banana to Taiwan, Australia and the Philippines and started selling the product there from the last week of September. It plans to sell its sales regions to 10 countries including the United States and Canada as well as the first exporting countries.

As rumors that there is a craze for Choco Pie Banana among foreign tourists visiting Korea this year and via social media services spread, more and more countries show so much interest in the new version of Choco Pie.

The banana-flavored Choco Pie has been marketed to celebrate Orion's 60th anniversary, the first time in 42 years after the creation of the original Choco Pie. It quickly became an instant hit after it was released in March, creating the banana fever in the food and beverage industry.

Choco Pie Banana is expected to gain popularity among global consumers after Choco Pie, the global hit that is selling in some 60 countries around the globe.
