Samsung Display and LG Display show off their latest technologies at the International Meeting on Information Display (IMID) Exhibition 2013 scheduled between October 7 and 9 at the KINTEX Convention Center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.

The former is planning to unveil 98-inch and 85-inch ultra HD (UHD) LCD panels along with 55-inch UHD OLED panels with the best color reproduction performance ever and 31.5-inch UHD LCD panels for monitors that have a response speed twice as fast as those of the other products.

At the same time, Samsung Display exhibits high-resolution and low-power consumption display solutions for use in smart phones, tablet PCs and portable monitors and 18.4-inch FHD slim LCD solutions for portable monitors. Having a maximum thickness of 4.3mm and as light as 680g, these are the thinnest and lightest LCD panels for monitors.

LG Display is going to display the world’s first 55-inch curved OLED TV, 47-inch transparent LCD panels with high color reproduction accuracy and a transparency of up to 15% and 55-inch 3D UHD panels requiring no glasses.

The company runs its own Super High-resolution Zone to exhibit UHD products ranging from smart phones and tablet PCs to monitors, laptops and TVs. Close-to-zero bezel panels for monitors and laptops and the world’s slimmest 3D video wall with 3.6mm bezels are expected to attract the visitors, too.

The show is scheduled to be attended by 88 companies from all around the world. At least 60,000 industry participants are slated to participate in it as well.
