WeMakePrice, one of Korea's leading e-commerce sites, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Xiaomi at its headquarters in Samsung-dong, Seoul, on September 26 to cooperate in the sales and marketing.

The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jin-won, head of the consignment business division at WeMakePrice, Wang Yong, head of the safety division at Xiaomi, and Han Moon-ho, CEO of Youmi, an official retail seller of Xiaomi hardware in Korea. Under the agreement, the two companies will cooperate in a wide range of areas from sales and marketing to operation of official customer service centers.

With the latest agreement, WeMakePrice has opened a separate Xiaomi brand section on its e-commerce platform so that consumers can purchase all of its products. It is also planning to introduce Xiaomi’s upcoming products in Korea as soon as possible in the future. WeMakePrice will allow consumers, who purchase Xiaomi products at the brand section, to be offered a free repair service at Xiaomi’s official customer service center in Korea run by Youmi as part of the promotional events to open the section.

In addition, WeMakePrice has opened a pop-up store selling Xiaomi products on the first floor of the headquarters in Samsung-dong. Customers can experience about 28 new products of Xiaomi, including a 60-inch TV, and purchase them at discounted prices at the store until the 28th.

Meanwhile, Youmi, has opened Xiaomi’s first official customer service center with a total floor area of 220 square meters (67 pyeong) at the first basement of the Yongsan Electronics Market in Seoul on the 23rd. The company plans to increase the number of its official service centers to five in major cities across the country.
