90 Years of Business
The Samyang Group announced on September 20 that they published “90 Years of Samyang” which depicts the group’s 90-year-long history from its foundation in 1924 to 2014. The book sheds a new light on the group’s growth in the modern history of Korea and looks back on founder and chairman Sudang Kim Yeon-soo’s founding spirit and business philosophies.
In addition, the book describes the group’s challenges and innovation to move forward to become a 100-year-old company by generalizing the status of current business. The “90 Years of Samyang” is an 800-page book and made up of two volumes.
The first volume begins with a story where the Samyang Group grew through a large-scale company-type farm and a reclamation program under its business philosophy of contributing to the growth of Korea during the Japanese colonial period when Korea’s industry did not show any sign of beginning.
The second volume is characterized by descriptions of the group’s chemical, food, pharmaceutical and bio and other business sectors with a focus on products.
Moreover, the Samyang Group is planning to publish compact versions of the book in Korean and English in addition to the regular edition. The compact versions will have about 260 pages, respectively and be published in October.
“Let’s look back on the past 90 years of the Samyang Group through ’90 Years of Samyang’ and create a better future beyond past successes,” said Kim Yoon, chairman of the Samyang Group in the publisher’s message.
