Hwang Kyu-yearn, a former head of the Office of Industrial Infrastructure at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources took office as the tenth CEO of the Korea Industrial Complex Corp. (KICOX).

CEO Hwang held his inauguration ceremony with the participation of all employees and officially began his term as CEO at the headquarters of the KICOX in Daegu on September. 

“I will turn industrial complexes into core spaces which take the lead in the fourth industrial revolution and the digital economy based on creativity and convergence,” Hwang said in his inauguration speech.

“Now, the KICOX’s roles are more important than ever in addressing various difficulties and problems on time and revitalizing industrial complexes and companies in them,” Hwang emphasized. “To this end, we will take the initiative in reforming various regulations at industrial sites and promoting communications with companies in industrial complexes while focusing on recovering exports and creating new jobs.”  

“We ought to create an innovative industrial complex model by taking the lead in the fourth industrial revolution via the convergence of the traditional manufacturing industry and ICT and putting our utmost efforts into smart industrial complexes and intelligent plants,” Hwang added.

“We will build a convenient industrial complex which guarantees the quality of life by intensively going ahead with the management of the safety of industrial complexes and environment improvement projects and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of companies in industrial complexes by innovatively remodeling superannuated industrial complexes,” Hwang added.
