CJ CGV has ranked first in the multiplex cinema sector of the National Brand Competitiveness Index (NBCI) commissioned by the Korea Productivity Center.

In this year’s NBCI, Korean consumers have awarded high marks to CJ CGV in that the company has definitely played as a cultureplex where they can enjoy various cultural activities such as music, arts, performances, and exhibitions as well as movies.

Over the last year, CJ CGV has taken the lead in turning cinemas into cultural spaces by introducing new concept theaters, including the world’s first reclining bed cinema Tempur Cinema, CGV SubPac making listening to music a full body experience, and CGV Daehakro Theater Culture. Along with them, the company has made efforts to increase the number of special theaters and exclusive contents, including 4DX presenting an all-five-senses immersive cinematic experience and three-side theater Screen X.

This year in particular, there is an outstanding cultural marketing that has focused on inviting the participation of customers in individual and local theater units. In addition, CJ CGV has held multiple events every year, including CGV Green Cinema where movies and performances can be enjoyed outdoor, CGV Culture Play Project covering movies, music, exhibitions, and talk programs, and CGV Youth Brand Festivals. And it has constantly worked for the long-term development of the movie industry by running theaters solely for screening independent and art films as well as CGV Art house.
