The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) announced on August 25 that it will examine energy efficiency performance and conduct on-the-job training programs at two businesses in Lima, Peru, from August 24 to September 6 in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) of Peru.

The KEA said, “We have so far worked together with the Peruvian government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, respond to climate change cooperation, provide energy efficiency policy consulting services and carry out local and invitational workshops. This year’s event is part of the follow-up building energy assessment projects which were implemented by the KEA in Peru last year. We are holding the event at the request of the Peruvian government.”

For on-site examination, the KEA will visit factories of Alicorp, the largest food and consumer goods producer in Peru, and Conchan, the state-run oil company. The KEA also plans to invite Peruvian government officials and offer consulting services on the establishment of energy certification associations in the second half of this year.

Park Byung-choon, director general of the Global Strategy Division of the KEA, said, “We hope to instruct Korea’s energy examination technology and help strengthen the capability of Peruvian officials through the event to check energy efficiency performance at Peruvian companies and provide education programs.”
