New Chair of Daewoo E&C
Daewoo Engineering and Construction (Daewoo E&C) said on August 23 that it has appointed Park Chang-min as its new CEO at a special general meeting of shareholders and the board of directors and had an inaugurated ceremony for the newly appointed CEO at the company’s headquarters on the same day.
In his inauguration speech, the newly appointed CEO said, “I will revive Daewoo E&C’s first-class DNA to make it grow into one of the world-top construction firms by improving its structure in preparation for an era of low growth.” And he also made it clear that he would enhance financial stability of the company, strengthen organizational efficiency and productivity, build trust based on ethics, and accomplish talent nurturing management.
The CEO had successfully carried out big projects like Haeundae I’Park and Suwon I’Park City after he entered the construction industry by joining Hyundai Development Company (HDC) in 1979. As CEO of the HDC, he was praised for building the basis to keep the balance in the black in spite of external conditions unfavorable to the construction industry overall.
CEO Park is known as a CEO with virtuous leadership, who puts a high value on communication and sympathy so he tries his utmost to meet frequently with executives and staff members, listen to their opinions and share their visions.
