LG CNS, the IT service provider subsidiary of LG Group, announced on July 27 that it has acquired international standard certificates of the Internet of Things (IoT) – “oneM2M” and “Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP)” – for the first time in the IT industry.
The oneM2M is a global IoT standard participated in by 230 companies in the communications, manufacturing and solutions sectors. With the latest certification, LG CNS has established a foothold to enter the Korean and global IoT service markets.
The company jointly developed the oneM2M-based IoT platform with LG U+ and applied it to LG U+ Kids Watch “Jyunibeo Talkie” in January.
LG CNS has also received a certificate of the IoT message transfer standard “CoAP” at the same time. The CoAP is an IoT device efficiency certificate which allows of communications between IoT devices with low power consumption considering the characteristics of IoT devices which are always turned on.
