Samsung Electronics has decided to unveil the world's first smartphones with curved displays in October.

In fact, Samsung already showcased the use of flexible display technology. The company unveiled a prototype smartphone with a curved screen at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.

Samsung’s first introduction of a smartphone with a flexible display has special meaning at the moment.” 

It was reported that Samsung Display will mass-produce flexible panels for mobile phones within the year. The company is said to be able to manufacture 24,000 flexible OLED displays monthly in the 5.5th generation Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) production line.

LG Electronics is also actively pursuing its strategy to dominate the market for flexible smartphones. The company is reported to be planning to reveal its curved smartphones using plastic OLED displays by the end of this year.
