Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on July 19 that it signed an agreement on July 15 to supply four KT-1 basic trainer jets to Senegalese Air Force.

With this, the total number of KT-1 trainer jets supplied to overseas countries has gone up to 81 (17 to Indonesia, 40 to Turkey, 20 to Peru, and 4 to Senegal).

An officer of the company said, “Last year’s summit meeting in Seoul between the Presidents of South Korea and Senegal helped the deal of KT-1 trainer jets.

The officer also said, “We already exported the trainer to Indonesia, Turkey and Peru, and now we are making inroad into Senegal, paving the way to export KT-1 trainer jets to all the continents,” adding, “The export to Senegal is expected to have a positive impact in obtaining additional orders from other African countries.
