Asiana Airlines has won the World's Best Economy Class award from Skytrax, the world’s largest airline service evaluation agency.

The airline announced on July 13 that it has won the World's Best Economy Class, the Best Economy Class Onboard Catering and the Best Economy Airline Seat awards at the 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony at the Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K. on the 12th (local time).

Accordingly, Asiana Airlines has won the World's Best Economy Class award for three years in a row and the Best Economy Class Onboard Catering award for two years in a row.

The airline has maintained “5-Star airline” title for the 10 consecutive year since it was first won the title in April 2007. Currently, there are only eight airlines in the world which were selected as the 5-Star airlines by Skytrax and Asiana Airlines is the only airline with the title in Korea.

The World Airline Awards began in 1999, when the London-based Skytrax launched its first global, airline passenger satisfaction survey. It is known as "the Oscars of the aviation industry.” The awards are voted on 200 airlines around the world by airline passengers from more than 160 countries every year. The surveys measure Quality standards across 41 key performance indicators from check-in service and boarding procedures and to cabin cleanliness.
