POSCO ICT will export its industrial electric precipitator, which removes pollutants, including fine dust, emitted from thermal power stations and steelworks, to the Chinese market.

The company announced on June 14 that it has signed a contract with Dalian Power Generation Co. run by one of China’s five largest power groups, to supply 24 electric precipitators. It also signed contracts to export 70 electric precipitators to China this year alone, including deals with Shijiazhuang Steel, a subsidiary of Hebei Iron & Steel.

Under the contract, POSCO ICT will export its self-developed industrial electric precipitator “Micro Pulse System (MPS)” to China. The MPS removes dust by separating fine dust to dust collecting plate using electrostatic force generated by the high voltage pulse.

Compared with the previous technology, the MPS can improve dust removal rate more than 50% and reduce energy consumption more than 80%. In particular, it can raise the efficiency simply with the equipment replacement without the extension of existing dust collectors.
