Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are adopting commercial signage market strategies different from each other.

Samsung Electronics, for example, unveiled its smart signage products running on the Tizen operating system at this year’s InfoComm that kicked off in Las Vegas on June 8. The products are divided into the world’s slimmest two signage products with a thickness of 29.9 mm and the other one for outdoor use.

One of the two super-slim P series products has a brightness of 700 nits while the brightness of the other one P series is 500 nits. The OHF series for outdoor use is an all-in-one product with a built-in PC, a built-in router, etc. It is waterproof and dustproof and has a maximum image signal transmission range of 100 meters.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics displayed a series of OLED signage products at the exhibition. Its exhibits include the Ultra Stretch with a picture ratio of 58:9 and solutions to which the intuitive Web OS platform is applied for convenience of use. OLED display is characterized by accurate color reproduction based on each pixel’s light emission and the lack of backlights. In addition, it is suitable for commercial applications because it is free from color distortion at any angle of view. It is slimmer than LCD panels and can have a curved form, too.
