KT announced on June 8 that the Finance Asia magazine picked it as this year’s enterprise with the most committed corporate governance in South Korea.

The Hong Kong-based financial magazine conducts an annual survey with global fund managers and analysts investing in Asia and releases the Asia’s Best Companies list once a year, which consists of the best enterprises by Asian country in terms of criteria including investor relations, corporate governance, shareholder return and management.

For this year’s list, the Finance Asia conducted the survey with 129 fund managers and analysts. In that survey, they took a vote to select those distinguishing themselves from companies listed on Asian stock markets. KT ranked first in the Most Committed Corporate Governance category and second in each of Best Managed Companies and Best at Investor Relations.

The Most Committed Corporate Governance category is to find out whether a company is capable of creating a sustainable shareholder value based on responsible management. This year, KT was followed by corporations such as KT&G, the Korea Electric Power Corporation, Hyundai Department Store, POSCO and LG Chem in this category covering South Korean companies.
