Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for research and development, technology exchange and commercialization of fuel cell systems for buildings with Technical University of Denmark, or DTU, at Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) in Copenhagen, Demark, on June 6.

KOGAS has hydrogen production technology, a core technology of fuel cells, while DTU owns an advanced technology which generates electricity from hydrogen.

3GF was initiated in 2011 by the governments of South Korea, Denmark, and Mexico, and was joined later by other countries like China and Kenya. The aim of the 3GF Summit is to help businesses and related agencies cooperate and promote the use of sustainable resources in order to achieve the sustainable economic growth and greenhouse gas reduction.

Under the MOU, the two parties, which possess core technologies of fuel cells, will cooperate to facilitate the commercialization of fuel cells and secure a new growth engine and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by promoting the use of new renewable energy focusing on fuel cells.

In addition to the MOU with DTU, KOGAS also signed MOUs with Danish Power Systems, a leading fuel cell production company, and Denmark-based Kosan Crisplant, which leads bunkering systems in the market.
