Using Wi-fi networks in Japan just got easier thanks to KT.
Using Wi-fi networks in Japan just got easier thanks to KT.

KT Corporation announced on September 16 that it will introduce the industry's first automatic global Wi-Fi roaming service between Korea and Japan.

With this service, KT subscribers can automatically use data roaming services in Japan via NTT DoCoMo’s Wi-Fi networks. When NTT DoCoMo subscribers come to Korea, their smartphones will automatically access KT’s Olleh Wi-Fi networks.

So far, it has been necessary for people to enter their IDs and passwords in order to utilize Wi-Fi networks abroad. But from now on, KT members can automatically use the service with just one click to use their IDs of affiliated Wi-Fi networks, as they do in Korea.

Therefore, KT customers will be able to search for directions and travel information with smartphones by automatically using Wi-Fi networks in Japan.

To offer opportunities to experience the service, KT started on September 16 to receive applications for free use from KT users scheduled to visit Japan. It will provide automatic international Wi-Fi roaming services for free by choosing 4,000 people on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone who wishes to use this service can apply by visiting www.olleh.com. Wi-Fi networks will be available free of charge to selected Korean customers in Japan. The selected ones will be notified of a guide on how to use the service and details about coverage by text message.
